He is intelligent and athletic, with exceptional conformation, natural talent, and pedigree. His style in the Cutting pen is intense with huge stops, his slides in Reining are mesmerizing, and his ability to hold a cow is hypnotic. Taking the NRCHA 2013 year by storm, Travelin Jonez won three of the NRCHA's most prestigious limited age events: the NRCHA Stakes Open Champion, NRCHA Celebration of Champions Derby Winner, NRCHA Cooke Memorial Derby Winner, and was the NRCHA Hackamore Classic Reserve Champion. Other wins and titles include the NCHA Certificate of Ability; In 2011: Top-Ten NRCHA Open Futurity; NRCHA Intermediate Open Futurity Reserve Champion; in 2012: 4th NRCHA Open Stallion Stakes; split 3rd NRCHA Open Hackamore Classic; in 2013: NRCHA Open Derby Champion; NRCHA Open Stallion Stakes Champion; NRCHA Open Hackamore Classic Reserve Champion; in 2015: 3rd NRCHA Hackamore Classic Bridle Spectacular Open; in 2016: finalist Top-Ten NRCHA World's Greatest Horseman Preliminaries Composite; in 2017: 4th NRCHA World's Greatest Horseman with Chris Dawson; in AQHA competition: Open Performance ROM; earning (12) Working Cow Horse (L3); (6) Cutting (L3); (4) Ranch Riding (L3) points in open events, and the list continues. His impressive pedigree and proven performance speak for themselves. The great Smart Chic Olena, an NRHA Hall of Fame Sire, sires "TJ" (as he is called). His dam is the great Travelin With Sass, a daughter of Travalena and producer of more than $200,000 in NRCHA, NRHA, and NCHA money earners in open events.
